All in the details
Last night I finished my second Eileen Tee.
The first one was done in Malabrigo and while comfy and lovely, there were a couple of fit-related items that were off: it was too short and I, apparently, do not require any hip shaping whatsoever as I only have half of a womanly figure, the top half of the hour glass.
In any event, the Malabrigo test sweater paved the way for the perfect sweater in Madelinetosh Worsted, color Saffron.
While soft and luscious, the Malabrigo was also a little too heavy a sweater for me. The Madelinetosh worsted is a joy to work with, washes and blocks beautifully, and is the perfect weight.
As for the color Saffron, I am so pleased I decided to leap outside my box of browns and blacks.
How about a peek?
Pattern: Eileen Tee
Yarn: Madelinetosh worsted in Saffron, just over 1300 yards for the 46 bust size
Modifications: Added 4 inches in length, also incorporated decorative ribbing at bottom of hem and sleeves, omitted hip shaping from waist, and used a provisional cast on for the cap sleeves which I converted to long sleeves.
As gorgeous as the sweater is, looking at these photos, I seriously need to abandon a good forty pounds.
I know, I know, then the sweater would not fit...

You have too much talent for just one person!!! *S*
Love the sweater! You look awesome. Wear it with pride.
As for the color? Amazing. Just the most exquisite shade...
Those 40 lbs? I am right there with ya...wonder if it would work if we didn't allow ourselves to knit unless we'd worked out for 30 mins?
Maria - I think you may be on to something.
Laura - the thought has certainly crossed my mind!
