Wet and blocking
but done!
The neckline is lovely. It is almost a sweetheart and not a true vee.
Pattern: Eileen Tee
Yarn: Malabrigo in Simply Taube (Simply Taupe)
I had 6 skeins and used all but about 50 yards, but the sleeves three-quarter length, rather than long.
LOVE this pattern and the yarn. A fairly quick knit, too, as it took me just over a week.
If I can get someone to take a few shots, I might even model this one. I adore it THAT much!
I will be knitting another of these for me in a different color, perhaps that saffron...just need to get the last of that Christmas knitting out of the way...
This appears misshapen as the hips are not nearly that much wider than the bust. It must be the way I have the sleeves pulled out.

Progress
A hoodie for the wee child is underway. The back is nearly complete:
The colors are fun. I think she will like it. This one has been designated as the Christmas knit for her.
The sweater for me is coming along. Just when I began to think I would run completely out of yarn, I finished the front. As I knit the body in the round, it was slow going until I hit the underarms, then the front practically finished itself, complete with the decorative trim at the raglan arm seams.
Here is a shot of the seam at the right arm:
So far, so good!

Okay, so I started something else for myself...
With Christmas knitting down to one hoodie for the wee child, I started feeling a little cocky last night.
I know I cast on a few weeks ago for a new sweater for me and as wonderful and lovely as it is, it is dk weight and will take me a while. Not to mention, it is not knit with Malabrigo.
So, I glanced at the projects I had ready to go, as in: have already been swatched for and I decided I just had to cast on for the Eileen Tee:
All it requires is the following when knit in the round:
Odd numbered rows: k2, p1, k2
Even numbered rows: knit
If one is knitting flat, then cast on and:
For WS odd numbered rows: p2, k1, p2
RS even numbered rows: knit
Additional modifications include working in the round, instead of flat, and lengthening the sleeves.
As the sleeves are oddly shaped raglan-style which are seamed on after the fact, I decided I will use a provisional cast on and knit the sleeves as written from the bottom up to the shoulder. When the sweater is done and sleeves are added, I will unzip the live stitches and knit the sleeves down to the wrist, in-the-round, two-at-a-time, because I am concerned about running out of yarn, although I think I should have enough.
For my size (46 1/2 bust), the pattern calls for 7 balls at 108 yards = 756 yards. I have 1260 yards or 504 yards extra out of which longer sleeves and length will be added.
Hopefully, that is enough!
Despite what the pattern says, I am finding it hard to believe 756 yards is enough to knit a sweater for me.
For Sweet One's Christmas sweater, as well as my mother's Christmas sweater (Sweet is modeling my mother's here) I knit the size 36" bust and used right at 660 yards on the same size needles.
This pattern is not yet in Ravelry, so I cannot compare to what others have done.
Does anyone else see a potential problem in the yardage?

Except, of course, there will be modifications. Instead of the rolled stockinette hem at the bottom, I opted for a variation of the ribbed hem:

Models are so tempermental...

This pattern was a joy! I loved every second of working on it.
It is a quick knit; however, I did have to go up a needle size for the herringbone section. There is no give with the herringbone and I am a tight knitter. Looking at other projects, I should have gone up a needle size for the body of the hat, too; however, as this has been called by Wee One, the fit is fine.
(As I have just soaked it and am drying it, I may have to revise the size statements. It appears to have grown...)
I anticipate making a couple more of these.

Celty Mittens
Even though both mittens are knitted from the same skein, there is a distinct color difference. Notwithstanding, I really like this yarn. I will be stashing more.
This project was fine, but I think I am just not that enthused about knitting mittens. I have decided, they are not my thing.
But, another project down.
Yay!

Tribeca Blue Grass
Wee One's birthday sweater is done!
Although, I have only just pinned the button on. I need for her to try it on before I sew it on.
While the yarn is wonderful, this would not have been my first color choice, but I am not an eight year old. Hopefully, she will be pleased.

Down with the count!
Despite typically feeling like a slacker, a quick inventory of finished projects tallies up quite impressively:
12 Sweaters (three more on the needles)
9 pairs of socks (granted 2 pair are made up of 4 individual test knit socks)
5 hats
4 scarves
2 shawls
1 pair of mitts
1 bookmark
1 swiffer pad
In addition to completing the three sweaters presently on the needles, I hope to do three more pairs of socks, a couple of hats, and a pair of mittens before Christmas.
Even if nothing more gets done, I feel as though I have had a darn good knitting year!

Good Beagle
Modeled pictures will have to wait until after Christmas, but the husband's sweater is complete!
I love this pattern and the Malabrigo is perfect for it. I am so glad I decided to knit the body in the round because I could not have withstood knitting a back, then having to start all over and knit a front, too. It was a bit of a slog until I reached the armholes, but once I made that milestone, the rest of it verily knit itself, even the sleeves.

With an eye on the finish line
The sleeves for the husband's sweater have been cast on (two-at-a-time in-the-round) and are a third complete.
Yay!
Although, I think he has finally caught on. Over the weekend he asked: "Who is that one for?"
Me: "Don't ask."
Him: "It's too big for you."
Me: "Says who? I may be planning to grow into it."
With a laugh, he pressed: "Is there a boyfriend I need to know about."
Me: "No."
Him: "I like the color."
All the while I am working on his sleeves, I am itching to get back to my Jamison Square.
Here is the progress on my sweater, it is knit in-the-round, too:

Not too bad, but I have set it aside to finish up the husband's and then onto Wee One's...
There are just not enough hours in the day.
